Compatibility Mode on Microsoft Office apps

When you open an Excel Spreadsheets for example, you may notice on the tile bar it has [Compatibility Mode]. This means that this spreadsheet was created in version 2003 or even earlier.

What you will notice is that certain features from versions 2010 forward will be unavailable to you. Such as : Sparklines, Slicers and more. If you don’t need to share with anyone with an old version then you can safely convert the file.
